# Canborsa adds dynamic funding and payment history

Canborsa has [introduced dynamic funding and a funding-payment history](https://x.com/Canborsa_DEX/status/2098027184258437354), giving perpetual traders a changing funding rate and a record of what they pay or receive while holding positions.

[Perpetual contracts](https://docs.canborsa.com/getting-started/perpetuals) let traders take a position on an asset’s price without a fixed expiry date. Funding is a payment between traders on opposite sides of the market, used to help keep the contract price aligned with the underlying asset.

With Canborsa’s update, the direction of that payment follows the market. When the perpetual price is above the underlying price, traders holding long positions pay those holding short positions. When it is below, the payment goes the other way. Long positions benefit from rising prices; short positions benefit from falling prices.

The new funding history gives users a record of these payments over time. Traders can review the amounts paid or received while holding a position.

The September 10 update adds to [Canborsa’s trading platform](https://canborsa.com/), which supports Canton alongside other networks. Funding payments are separate from the gains or losses caused by changes in the contract’s price.
