# Canborsa adds partial closing for perpetual positions

Canborsa has added [partial position closing](https://t.me/canborsa_dex/145), giving traders a way to reduce a trade without exiting it completely. The feature went live on September 21.

Users can choose the portion to close as a percentage or a specific amount. This lets them take some profit from a winning trade or reduce their exposure while leaving the remainder open.

Existing take-profit and stop-loss settings stay attached to the remaining position. These are instructions to close a trade when it reaches a chosen profit or loss level, so the remainder keeps the settings the trader already selected.

The update applies to Canborsa's perpetual trading, which spans crypto and markets linked to stocks, commodities and indices. [Perpetual contracts](https://docs.canborsa.com/getting-started/perpetuals) track an asset's price without an expiry date. A stock-linked contract gives price exposure rather than ownership of the underlying shares.
