# Cantex adds Edel's S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 tokens

Cantex has [opened trading in SPYe and QQQe](https://x.com/Cantex_io/status/2102496646072545307), two Edel-issued tokens linked to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100. The September 22 listings give Canton users another venue for trading exposure to major U.S. stock-market indices.

SPYe is linked to the S&P 500, which spans sectors including technology, financials, healthcare and industrials. QQQe is linked to the Nasdaq-100, an index of large non-financial companies listed on Nasdaq.

The [listing terms](https://x.com/Cantex_io/status/2102496656356692014) identify both tokens as debt instruments. Holders receive exposure to the underlying index rather than direct ownership of ETF shares. Full access to Cantex remains invitation-only.

[Edel's reserve model](https://docs.edel.finance/docs/edel-stocks) backs each Canton token with one unit of a corresponding third-party tokenized asset. That asset is itself backed by the underlying share held with the provider's custodian. Holders therefore have exposure to Edel and its backing providers, alongside movements in the investment's market price.

Direct redemption through Edel is available in USDCx to institutional participants that have completed business verification. The Canton tokens can also be held and transferred through supported wallets.

[Edel's roadmap](https://x.com/edeldotfinance/status/2102396890231062749) places U.S. blue-chip stocks next, followed by global equities and smaller companies. Those additions remain planned.
