# Canton Foundation sponsors Marex’s Super Validator proposal

The Canton Foundation has [agreed to sponsor Marex’s Super Validator proposal](https://lists.sync.global/g/cip-discuss/message/856), backing a plan focused on institutional settlement, collateral and regulated access to Canton. The sponsorship was announced on September 21 following an asynchronous Tokenomics vote.

Marex provides execution, clearing, financing and prime-brokerage services across financial and commodity markets. Its proposal targets the work that connects trading to settlement: moving cash and assets to complete transactions, and using collateral to support financial obligations.

Under [CIP-0126](https://github.com/canton-foundation/cips/pull/266), Marex could earn Super Validator reward weight of up to 10 by delivering agreed projects on Canton. The program covers institutional settlement, collateral integration, customer access and production activity on the network.

The individual commitments, deadlines and reward allocations have been agreed privately with the Tokenomics and Super Validator Accountability Committees. Those bodies would verify completed work, with the details remaining confidential until Marex and the Foundation decide to disclose them.

Rewards would be held in escrow and released as milestones are verified and approved. Marex would cover the cost of its representative Super Validator arrangement.

The proposal was first circulated on September 14 and submitted as CIP-0126 on September 21. Foundation sponsorship is part of the preparation for a formal Super Validator vote under Canton’s [proposal process](https://github.com/canton-foundation/cips/blob/main/cip-0000/cip-0000.md).
