Confluo has announced a bridge into Canton, Umbra has released a tool for automated trading quotes on DevNet, and Canton Venues has added ways to compare potential sales and past trades. New funding requests also target the work developers do before an application reaches users.

This edition covers announcements since the [previous roundup was published on October 27 at 08:29 UTC](https://cantonnews.org/canton-roundup-nasdaq-s-validator-allocation-new-markets-and-builder-funding), through October 28, 2026 at 02:26 UTC. Two earlier app applications are labelled as carryovers below.

## Asset access and trading tools

### Confluo announces a bridge into Canton

[Confluo says its Pegaroute-powered bridge is live](https://x.com/confluo_dex/status/2115033183465189593) from ten chains, naming USDC, ETH, SOL and BTC in its October 27 announcement. Bridging moves assets between networks; swapping exchanges one asset for another.

The [project’s website](https://confluo.xyz/) describes bridge routes through Squid and Axelar. It says a route into Canton requires transfer preapproval for the receiving Canton account, and settlement happens in stages rather than as one all-or-nothing transaction.

The site separately labels its swap screen as a read-only preview with execution coming soon. The bridge announcement therefore does not establish that every advertised swap or asset-and-chain combination is available. CantonNews has not tested a transfer.

### Umbra opens automated quoting on DevNet

[Umbra’s dealer API release](https://x.com/UmbraOnCanton/status/2115139861103398941) lets market makers—the traders who offer buying and selling prices—automate their quotes using their own signing keys. An API lets software interact with a service without manually using its interface.

Umbra provides a reference bot and says dealers can set price spreads, size limits, partial fills and automatic updates when markets move. The release is on **Canton DevNet, a development environment**, not production MainNet. Its security and privacy claims were not independently tested.

### Canton Venues adds sale-depth and historical comparisons

[Canton Venues’ update](https://x.com/CantonVenues/status/2115191482948943891) estimates how much of each token can be sold while retaining 98% of its value, according to the provider. It also announces a way to compare a past trade with venue quotes from the time it was made.

These extend the [existing multi-venue dashboard](https://cantonnews.org/canton-venues-brings-seven-trading-venues-into-one-dashboard). The figures describe market conditions captured at a particular time; they are not guaranteed sale proceeds. Its calculation method and fee assumptions have not been independently verified.

## Developer funding: requests, not awards

Two October 27 proposals seek funding for different parts of application development. Both remain open requests, with no grant approval established:

- **LimeChain: 3.31 million CC for FRED.** The [proposal](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/937) would let developers reload changed Daml packages without restarting their whole development node. Daml is Canton’s contract language. FRED aims to preserve the node and party identities while archiving affected contracts and rerunning setup. It proposes about 29 weeks of development, followed by adoption and maintenance work.
- **BitDynamics: 4.8 million CC for Canton DevKit.** Its [six-month proposal](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/935) would make test environments easier to reproduce across multiple synchronizers—the services that coordinate transactions. Planned features include network-configuration views, contract-reassignment helpers and automated testing setup. Final acceptance would require verified use by at least two external projects.

FRED concerns development reloads; it is not a promise that production contracts can be changed without consequences. DevKit’s proposed extension is also separate from [BitDynamics’ earlier 1.2 million CC Splice grant](https://cantonnews.org/canton-development-fund-approves-1-2-million-cc-for-bitdynamics).

**Snapix also formalized a request.** Its [October 27 filing](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/938) seeks US$100,000 equivalent in CC for open-source commerce and payment tools. The exact CC quantity remains to be determined. The applicant says it introduced the idea on October 7; the new development is the formal filing, not an award or a product launch.

## Four core-maintenance payments are reported

Development Fund comments posted late on October 27 mark October maintenance for [Splice](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/issues/900#issuecomment-6455966782), [Canton](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/issues/897#issuecomment-6455970250), [Daml](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/issues/894#issuecomment-6455974452) and [Splice Wallet Kernel](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/issues/891#issuecomment-6455978547) as paid, each linking to a Lighthouse grant record.

These are payment-stage reports for existing maintenance work, distinct from new grants or software releases. CantonNews has not independently verified recipients’ claims or the complete ledger receipts, so no payment total is presented.

## Earlier applications: Tori Finance and Cohong

_Carryovers: both applications appeared on the tokenomics mailing list on October 27 at 04:03 UTC, before the previous roundup was published._

**Tori Finance** [applied for Featured App status](https://lists.sync.global/g/tokenomics/message/1373) for trUSD, its synthetic dollar, and strUSD, described as its staked vault share. The application proposes using the Digital Asset Utility Registry and Chainlink CCIP to connect the tokens between Ethereum and Canton.

Tori reports Canton TestNet activity since October 14 and explicitly says the tokens are not yet live on Canton MainNet. It requests an exception to the MainNet operating-history requirement. The application is not evidence of Featured App approval.

**VN Capital’s Cohong** [application](https://lists.sync.global/g/tokenomics/message/1374) describes a peer-to-peer marketplace for Canton assets against local currency and stablecoins. The trading flow it describes uses escrow, bonds and dispute arbitration. Escrow holds assets until the agreed release conditions are met.

VN Capital says Cohong launched on MainNet on October 6. That earlier launch claim was not independently tested; the new item is the Featured App application. Options trading remains a planned addition.

## Governance and community briefs

**RedStone seeks feedback on CAPS.** The [October 27 discussion](https://lists.sync.global/g/cip-discuss/message/906) concerns a proposed Canton Access and Privacy Standard for sharing and verifying oracle data—information such as prices supplied from outside the ledger. It remains a draft under technical discussion, not an approved network standard.

**Super Validator rights management gets dated milestones.** A [public discussion](https://lists.sync.global/g/cip-discuss/message/905) proposes recording individual rights owners, reward weights and beneficiaries on the ledger. The [updated grant schedule](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/936) targets a CIP and draft implementation by December 16, 2026, with a December 30 commitment. Full implementation is targeted for February 24, 2027, with a March 31 commitment; rollout is targeted for June 9. These dates do not establish deployment, and migration would still require a Super Validator vote. The [grant was already approved in October](https://cantonnews.org/canton-roundup-new-funding-approvals-wallet-access-and-governance-votes).

**Agora begins limited survey access.** [Selected users were invited](https://x.com/AgoraSurveyVote/status/2115074883046502686) to a five-question Canton survey. This is an early access wave, not a general public launch.
