_Funding decisions, product updates and dates to watch across the Canton ecosystem._

Canton’s [Development Fund](https://cantonnews.org/inside-canton-s-development-fund-as-13-proposals-go-to-a-vote) has approved funding for a shared vault standard and a system for recording Super Validator reward rights. Elsewhere, Unhedged is highlighting a USDT funding route, MahaWallet is showing how users can move rupiah into and out of their balances, and a16z’s hosted allocation has reached an implementation vote.

_Updates since the_ [_previous roundup_](https://cantonnews.org/canton-roundup-modulo-s-rewards-change-edel-s-10-million-milestone-and-developer-updates) _was published on October 21, 2026 at 09:36 UTC, through October 22 at 02:46 UTC._

## 1\. Two Development Fund projects receive approval

Mystic’s [tokenized-vault project has been approved](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/863#issuecomment-6319104706) for funding of up to 2 million CC. A vault holds deposited assets and issues shares representing a depositor’s stake. The project aims to give applications common rules for deposits, shares and withdrawals, supported by reference code and tests.

The award is tied to delivery: 500,000 CC for design, ecosystem feedback and approval of the standard’s Canton Improvement Proposal; another 500,000 CC for software delivery; and up to 1 million CC for verified adoption by external teams.

The [shared vault design](https://cantonnews.org/mystic-finance-proposes-a-shared-vault-standard-for-canton) addresses a practical problem for developers. If each vault handles deposits and shares differently, a wallet or lending application needs a separate connection for each one. Common interfaces could reduce that work while leaving individual vault strategies distinct.

A second [approved project from IntellectEU and Digital Asset](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/777#issuecomment-6317808588) has a 4 million CC milestone-based award. It would [record individual Super Validator rights owners, reward weights and beneficiaries on the ledger](https://cantonnews.org/canton-proposal-would-make-super-validator-reward-weights-easier-to-track), rather than relying only on the combined weight of a hosting node. That could make allocations easier to inspect and update.

![Two milestone-based Development Fund awards: up to 2 million CC for a shared vault standard and 4 million CC for recording Super Validator rights and weights on the ledger. Funding approval does not establish full payment or deployment.](https://pnyaxwohgkgczwuvbaqg.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/article-images/cantonnews/2026-10-22/81cba86e1c6a9cfef25067a7dd75f714917cdc305cc9c59734fad4d57bfd60a9-roundup-funding.webp)_The approved_ [_Mystic_](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/blob/main/proposals/mystic.md) _and_ [_IntellectEU/Digital Asset_](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/pull/777) _awards are tied to milestones. These amounts are not confirmed payments already made._

## 2\. a16z’s allocation moves to an implementation vote

A [new governance vote](https://lists.sync.global/g/supervalidator-announce/message/627) would add a16z’s escrowed reward weight of 10 to the MPC-Holding-Inc hosting node. Weight sets a relative share of Super Validator rewards, not a fixed number of coins. It is a step toward implementing [a16z’s earlier Super Validator approval](https://cantonnews.org/a16z-crypto-approved-for-canton-super-validator-role).

The vote closes on October 27 at 07:20 UTC, with a proposed effective time of October 28 at 07:20 UTC. The [configuration change](https://github.com/canton-foundation/configs/pull/409) remained open at the reporting cutoff. The allocation is escrowed, so it should not be read as an immediate, unrestricted reward payout.

## 3\. Reward-weight changes are proposed for DFNS and Taurus

The Tokenomics Committee has [recommended changes under Canton’s coin-locking requirements](https://lists.sync.global/g/supervalidator-announce/message/628): reducing DFNS’s active minting weight from 0.6 to zero, and Taurus’s from 3 to 1.8 while leaving its escrowed weight of 2 unchanged.

The notice asks operators to initiate governance votes before implementing the recommendations. The changes follow the [framework linking Super Validator rewards to locked CC](https://cantonnews.org/cip-0105-sets-locking-framework-for-canton-super-validators).

## 4\. Unhedged highlights USDT funding and a card-price market

[Unhedged](https://cantonnews.org/projects/unhedged) users can [connect TronLink and fund their balance with USDT on Tron](https://x.com/UnhedgedHQ/status/2112922205117993139), with withdrawals also paid in USDT. Funding enters the account as a [dollar-denominated platform balance used for trading](https://unhedged.gg/faq/).

The team also outlined [Binder50](https://x.com/UnhedgedHQ/status/2112861737267372036), a planned index of 50 Pokémon cards graded PSA 10. Each card would have a 2% weight, with prices refreshed from sales every 15 minutes and a weekly market on whether the index rises or falls. Users would be predicting the index’s direction, not buying the cards themselves.

## 5\. MahaWallet shows rupiah deposits and withdrawals

[MahaWallet’s walkthrough](https://x.com/MahaWalletApp/status/2113093540658168154) shows users topping up an Indonesian rupiah (IDR) balance by scanning a QRIS payment code from a banking or e-wallet app. It also shows bank withdrawals, with the fee displayed before confirmation, and access through its Telegram Tip bot.

## 6\. Korea’s reliability-testing project clears its first milestone

The Development Fund has [accepted the first milestone](https://github.com/canton-foundation/canton-dev-fund/issues/814#issuecomment-6316648310) for work on Korean TTA reliability verification of a Canton private synchronizer, a dedicated system for coordinating transactions.

This stage covers the evaluation scope, engagement with the Telecommunications Technology Association and a public reference-deployment outline. The milestone carries 330,000 CC in funding. It establishes the groundwork for testing, not a completed reliability assessment or TTA certification.

## 7\. Certora sets out lessons for application security

[Certora’s guide to auditing Canton applications](https://www.certora.com/blog/auditing-smart-contracts-canton) focuses on the whole transaction process. Permission to request an action, for example, does not automatically prove that the asset referenced in that request belongs to the right party.

The guide recommends testing cancellation, locked assets, accounting and what each participant can see. For teams preparing a launch, that means checking what happens when an order is cancelled or an asset is locked, not only when a trade completes successfully.

## 8\. Committee nominations and a Mumbai builders’ evening

The Canton Foundation has opened calls for [Tokenomics Committee nominations](https://lists.sync.global/g/tokenomics/message/1365) and a [Marketing Committee chair](https://lists.sync.global/g/Marketing/message/15). Both close on October 31 at 03:59 UTC. Member organisations are asked to submit one nomination each, with appointments reviewed by the Board.

For developers, the Foundation, Ledger and OpenZeppelin are hosting a [Canton Builders’ Evening in Mumbai](https://luma.com/4s9s062i) on November 5, from 10:30 to 13:30 UTC. The programme includes talks, questions and networking. Places are limited to 100 and registration requires approval.
