# Ibex adds cETH perpetual trading to its Canton beta

Ibex has added cETH-PERP to its beta MainNet on Canton. The listing introduces a perpetual-futures market tied to cETH, the Canton-native representation of ETH operated by onRails.

[onRails confirmed the listing](https://x.com/OnRailsFinance/status/2104864268797591693) on September 29, following [Ibex’s announcement](https://x.com/ibexmarket/status/2104572991384490455) the previous day that the market was coming.

[cETH is backed one-for-one by ETH](https://www.ceth.network/) locked in protocol-controlled smart contracts on Ethereum. It brings that asset into Canton for use across trading, lending and other applications. The Ibex market adds a derivatives use for it.

A perpetual contract lets traders take a position on an asset’s price without a fixed expiry date. That is a different position from buying and holding cETH itself.

[Ibex’s trading platform](https://ibex.market/) is designed to keep position sizes, leverage and liquidation levels hidden from other participants. cETH-PERP joins that platform as part of its beta MainNet rollout.
