# Kintsu opens its private beta on Canton

Kintsu has [opened its private beta on Canton](https://x.com/Kintsu/status/2108248122350592105), inviting early borrowers, lenders and vault managers to take part. The project is building lending markets, managed vaults and staking services for the network.

The lending model is designed to let people borrow against tokenized assets without selling them. Borrowers would put up assets as collateral, while lenders supply the funds. Each [lending market can have its own settings](https://x.com/Kintsu/status/2108248133461328165) for accepted collateral, interest rates and risk, allowing different markets to serve different assets and borrowing needs.

Kintsu is also developing [vaults run by professional managers](https://x.com/Kintsu/status/2108248139320713437). Rather than choosing each lending market themselves, depositors would enter a vault whose manager allocates funds across markets. Managers could build strategies around particular assets, yields and levels of risk.

A [September 30 preview](https://x.com/Kintsu/status/2105297350998856008) outlined the intended first-wave experience: supplying USDC, borrowing USDC against Canton Coin and submitting CC staking requests. Early participants will help refine those processes through hands-on use and feedback.

[Staking infrastructure](https://x.com/Kintsu/status/2108248141304594894) is another part of the work underway. Kintsu is also developing foundations for more automated, agent-driven financial applications.

The current [private-beta environment runs on Canton testnet](https://www.kintsu.xyz/beta), with Markets and Vaults marked as coming soon. The opening brings early participants into the development process ahead of those services becoming available.
