Loop's [Fee Balance is now live on Canton MainNet](https://x.com/FiveNorthHQ/status/2101039124572725530), giving users a separate prepaid balance for network transaction costs.

Users add funds to that balance in Loop, and transaction fees are deducted from it. This keeps the amount reserved for using the network separate from their other holdings.

For people connecting through browser applications or WalletConnect, Loop handles the fee-balance prompts when they approve a transaction. Those applications need no changes for the rollout.

Keeping some funds available matters because topping up the balance is itself a transaction. If the balance falls too low to cover that step, the account may need operator support before more funds can be added.

Applications that submit transactions from their own servers can use Loop's updated developer tools to check the expected fee and top up before proceeding. Developers can also set an additional reserve to leave in the account. Five North has published an [integration guide](https://docs.fivenorth.io/loop-sdk/server/) covering the updated process.
