# LYNC brings one-command deployment to Canton developers

LYNC has introduced [canton-deploy](https://forum.canton.network/t/canton-deploy-deploy-daml-packages-to-a-canton-validator-directly-from-your-daml-project/9147), a tool that brings several routine Canton deployment tasks into one command.

The September 17 announcement focuses on the work between writing an application and getting its smart contracts onto a Canton validator. That process can involve building the software package, uploading it, approving it for use, creating identities for application participants and giving users the right access.

Canton-deploy combines those steps. Developers run it from their existing Daml project, with the deployment command handling the package and the associated identity and user setup together.

[Daml is the smart contract language used to build Canton applications](https://www.canton.network/protocol). It defines the rules for a contract, including who can see it and who is allowed to change it. LYNC’s tool handles the deployment work around those contracts.

It also gives developers commands to check deployment status, inspect packages and contracts, manage users, and run Daml scripts. Settings for local development, DevNet and custom networks sit in one configuration file, so teams can manage those environments from the same project.

The [installation documentation](https://docs.lync.world/docs/CANTON/deploy/canton-deploy) lists the required software and connection setup. Developers need a running Canton participant node and access to its relevant interfaces before deploying. The tool is available as a component of DPM, the Daml Package Manager.
