# Marex’s Canton Super Validator arrangement takes effect on MainNet

Marex’s approved Super Validator program has reached its next stage on Canton, with its hosted reward-weight arrangement now in effect on MainNet.

The network’s [MainNet governance record](https://docs.global.canton.network.sync.global/dso) shows MPCH’s reward weight increasing from 35 to 45 on October 7. That is the change requested to accommodate Marex’s weight-10 program through an existing Super Validator operator.

The implementation follows approval of [CIP-0126](https://github.com/canton-foundation/cips/blob/main/cip-0126/cip-0126.md) on September 25. That proposal established a milestone-based program through which Marex can earn up to 10 in Super Validator weight by delivering agreed work for the Canton ecosystem.

The new arrangement creates the hosted reward allocation for that program. Rewards accumulate in Canton’s Unclaimed Rewards Pool, with releases tied to completed milestones and the required governance approvals.

Marex’s commitments cover regulated customer access, institutional settlement, collateral integration and production activity on Canton.

The company [provides access to more than 60 exchanges](https://www.marex.com/about-us) through its four main businesses: clearing, agency and execution, market making, and hedging and investment solutions. Its Canton program focuses on bringing regulated financial activity onto the network.

For each milestone, Marex must present evidence of completion and a calculation of the Canton Coin rewards due. The Tokenomics Working Group reviews that evidence before Super Validators carry out an approved release and assign the corresponding ongoing reward weight.

The approved framework also includes a path to operating an independent node. Once Marex has been awarded more than 2.5 in Super Validator weight, it must operate its own Super Validator within six months of crossing that threshold.
