# Marex wins approval for Canton Super Validator role

Marex has [won approval to participate in Canton’s Super Validator program](https://lists.sync.global/g/cip-announce/message/98). The network’s Super Validator operators approved CIP-0126 on September 25 with nine votes in favor and four non-votes.

The [approved program](https://github.com/canton-foundation/cips/blob/main/cip-0126/cip-0126.md) allows Marex to earn a maximum reward weight of 10 by completing agreed milestones. That weight determines its potential share of Super Validator rewards. Each portion depends on verified delivery and further governance approvals.

Marex provides execution, clearing, financing and collateral services across financial and commodity markets. Its Canton program covers work intended to help regulated customers access the network, settle institutional transactions and move collateral between financial activities.

The specific commitments, deadlines and commercial details have been agreed privately with Canton’s governance committees. They will become public when Marex and the Canton Foundation determine disclosure is appropriate.

Marex will cover the cost of an approved operator representing it in the Super Validator arrangement. Rewards will accumulate in the network’s unclaimed rewards pool while milestones are completed and checked.

To receive those rewards, Marex must submit evidence of delivery and a calculation of the Canton Coin earned. Committee verification is followed by authorization from two-thirds of Super Validator operators. If Marex’s awarded weight rises above 2.5, it must operate its own Super Validator within six months.
