# Paxos Super Validator proposal reaches a formal Canton vote

Canton’s Super Validators have [begun voting on Paxos’s proposed participation](https://lists.sync.global/g/cip-vote/message/806) in the network’s Super Validator program. The plan would bring stablecoin issuance, reserve management and automated minting and redemption onto Canton.

The vote opened on September 21, with Digital Asset as sponsor and Liberty City Ventures as endorser. Under [CIP-0125](https://github.com/canton-foundation/cips/blob/main/cip-0125/cip-0125.md), Paxos could earn Super Validator reward weight of up to 8 by completing delivery and adoption milestones.

The first target is native integration of Paxos’s stablecoin issuance platform and an aggregate $20 million of major Paxos stablecoins issued on Canton within six months of approval. This would let stablecoins be created and redeemed directly on the network.

Within nine months, Paxos would deliver an initial production service for managing stablecoin reserves on Canton. Those reserves could include tokenized U.S. Treasuries, reverse repo or digital bank deposits.

A twelve-month milestone calls for automated minting and redemption around the clock for approved participants. Minting creates stablecoin tokens; redemption exchanges them back for their value. The proposed service would use deposits or eligible assets held on Canton to support those transactions.

Additional rewards would depend on adoption over the first two years, measured through stablecoin issuance and reserves held on the network. Tokenomics would review evidence of completed milestones before the corresponding reward weight could be assigned.
