# Slay Money proposes stablecoin settlement for Canton prediction markets

Slay Money has proposed a change to how its Canton prediction markets settle: converting a stake into a dollar-stablecoin component when the bet is placed.

Its [request for delivery-versus-payment recognition](https://lists.sync.global/g/accountability/message/138) addresses a problem with using Canton Coin or cBTC for predictions. Their prices can change between placing a bet and resolving it, affecting the dollar value carried through settlement.

Under the proposed model, the staked asset and stablecoin would exchange in a single Canton transaction. Both sides would complete together, or neither would. The stablecoin amount established at placement would then be carried through to resolution.

The aim is to remove exposure to CC or cBTC price movements during that period and simplify the calculations behind settlement. It concerns how stakes are handled, not the chance of winning a prediction.

Slay Money is discussing a potential stablecoin integration with the Send Foundation while evaluating other options. The mechanism is designed to support different dollar stablecoins and further assets over time.

Its prediction market remains limited to approved users during controlled testing. The stablecoin design is a recognition request, with the integration still under discussion.
