Tradecraft's October 5 update puts its [total value locked on Canton above $3.5 million](https://x.com/tradecraftfi/status/2107172551344763318). The milestone follows a [September 3 update](https://x.com/tradecraftfi/status/2095520986393448724) that put the value held across its liquidity pools above $3 million.

Total value locked, usually shortened to TVL, measures assets held in a platform at a point in time. It is separate from trading volume, which tracks the value exchanged over a period.

Tradecraft lets users swap tokens against pools funded by liquidity providers. Its [liquidity guide](https://docs.tradecraft.fi/using-tradecraft/guide-how-to-provide-liquidity) explains that providers deposit a pair of assets and receive tokens representing their share of the pool. They can earn a portion of the fees generated when traders use it.

The latest amount is a dated snapshot provided by Tradecraft, not an independently audited figure. The brief update does not include a pool-by-pool breakdown or identify how much of the change came from new deposits rather than asset prices.
