# Yuval Rooz calls for connected financial networks at Seoul's EastPoint conference

Canton co-founder Yuval Rooz has called for financial networks to connect across borders while meeting the rules of each market, rather than waiting for a single global regulatory framework.

He addressed the issue at [EastPoint:Seoul 2026](https://www.eastpoint.xyz/), held on September 28 at the Westin Seoul Parnas. The conference brought together policymakers, financial institutions and digital-asset companies to discuss stablecoins and tokenized markets.

In the [regulatory discussion](https://www.edaily.co.kr/News/Read?mediaCodeNo=257&newsId=03109446645584712), Rooz pointed to differences between foreign-exchange rules in Korea and Brazil. As real-world assets move onto blockchains, those national requirements become more important. His proposed approach is to connect networks that satisfy their own jurisdictions' rules.

Korean lawmaker Lee Jun-seok raised a related concern: Korea's digital-asset framework should be compatible with other major markets. Caroline Pham, CEO of MoonPay Institutional, argued that financial products should follow the same regulatory principles when their activity and risks are the same, whether tokenized or traditional.
