CC enters circulation through two channels: validator rewards for operating network infrastructure, and app rewards for Featured Applications generating real transaction activity. 5% of future emissions are directed to the Protocol Development Fund, which finances ecosystem grants, tooling, and infrastructure development. The fund is governed through the Foundation and reported quarterly. As network usage grows, holding fees burn CC, creating the counterweight to emissions.
