Building financial infrastructure requires controlled iteration.

After months of development, testing, and refinement on the Canton Network, Alpend is entering its next phase. Today, Alpend Beta goes live for a select group of whitelisted users.

A Controlled Start

Alpend is a privacy-preserving money market on @CantonNetwork that enables decentralized lending and borrowing for digital assets.

In money markets, positions persist, exposure compounds, and system behavior under stress determines outcomes. Unlike trading applications, where failure costs a single transaction, failures in credit infrastructure propagate through collateral, liquidity, and counterparty risk.

These dynamics cannot be replicated in a test environment.

Beta allows us to observe real system behavior under live conditions while maintaining control over scale. Access is intentionally constrained. System integrity takes precedence over growth.

What's Live

Invited users can now access Alpend's core lending and borrowing functionality. Assets can be supplied to earn yield, and liquidity can be accessed by posting collateral.

What differentiates Alpend is not the surface functionality, but how positions exist within the system.

Positions are not publicly exposed. Collateral composition, strategy, and risk posture remain private to the participant.

Execution is deterministic. All outcomes — including liquidation, priority, and settlement — follow predefined rules with no discretionary intervention. The system behaves consistently under all conditions.

Why Canton

Alpend requires deterministic execution, selective disclosure, and atomic settlement. These are not optional features; they are constraints imposed by the structure of credit markets.

Most lending systems operate on a broadcast model, where positions, collateral levels, and liquidation thresholds are publicly observable. This model does not scale to serious credit markets. It introduces strategy leakage, enables liquidation targeting, and creates reflexive behavior under stress.

Canton removes this constraint at the protocol level.

On Alpend, participants access only the state relevant to them. Counterparties cannot observe each other's positions. At the same time, regulators retain full audit visibility into the system.

Privacy is enforced at the execution layer, not added on top.

What Comes Next

Beta is not a release milestone. It is a validation phase.

As usage increases, the system will be evaluated under sustained load, collateral stress, and liquidity shifts. Each phase of expansion will be gated by observed system performance.

Programmable credit infrastructure on Canton is now operational.
