BitSafe

Decentralized infrastructure for limitless finance

Background

BitSafe started with a single conviction: institutional digital asset infrastructure had to be built, not theorized about. Years of work across Bitcoin (Taproot, Schnorr, DLCs), Ripple, and other networks compounded into deep expertise in threshold signature schemes, multi-party custody, and governance frameworks. When Canton Network emerged as a privacy-native institutional blockchain, that conviction met the right architecture. BitSafe became the first team to launch a new asset on the network beyond its native token, and the first to deploy multi-signature infrastructure on Canton.

Key Benefits

Decentralized custody through FROST threshold signatures, with no single point of failure Privacy-native architecture inherited from Canton, where transactions are visible only to direct participants Open-source infrastructure (Apache 2.0) that institutions and developers can self-host, audit, and extend Configurable building blocks (Decentralization Manager, CBTC, plugin framework) rather than a single closed product Production-tested at institutional scale with multiple independent node operators and multi-venue liquidity

Why Canton

CBTC: 1:1 wrapped Bitcoin on Canton Network, the first non-native asset launched on the network Decentralized Party: FROST-based threshold-governed multi-sig infrastructure Decentralized Manager: open-source application framework with a modular plugin architecture (Generalized Governance Core, Token Management Plugin, Custody Plugin) Multi-venue trading ecosystem for CBTC across RFQ, CLOB, and AMM models Chainlink Proof of Reserve attestation for CBTC backing Quantstamp-audited smart contracts

Impact

First non-native asset on Canton Network First multi-signature infrastructure deployed on Canton CBTC live across 5+ institutional venues including RFQ desks, CLOBs, and AMMs 4+ independent institutional node operators in the Attestor Network (including Finoa, ValidationCloud, Kiln, Republic, Nethermind) Asset issuer rewards reinvested into onboarding external partners, developers, and liquidity, rather than farmed internally CBTC stands alongside USDCX and CC as one of Canton's three major assets
