Noves Data App

Self-hosted, permission-aware data infrastructure for Canton.

The Noves Data App is self-hosted Canton data infrastructure that classifies, searches, filters, and exports participant-visible ledger activity while keeping private data inside the operator environment.

Background

Noves solves a problem created by one of Canton's biggest strengths. Because Canton is privacy-preserving, participants do not get a universal public explorer for every activity on the network. That is good for confidentiality, but it creates operational work for teams that still need reporting, search, reconciliation, and analytics.

The Noves Data App is built for that reality. It gives participants a way to turn the activity they are allowed to see into standardized, searchable, exportable data without breaking the network's permission boundaries.

Key Benefits

Noves makes private ledger activity operationally usable.

  • Self-hosted deployment so sensitive data stays inside the participant's infrastructure
  • Classification and labeling of raw Canton ledger activity
  • Search, filter, and export tools for finance, operations, and support teams
  • Permission-aware design that respects what each participant is allowed to see
  • Open-source distribution and API paths for teams that want to build on top

Why Canton

Noves is almost a direct answer to Canton's data model. In a privacy-preserving network, the right analytics tool is not a global crawler. It is a participant-aware system that works from inside the permission boundary.

That makes Canton the reason Noves matters. It helps teams preserve privacy while still getting the operational visibility required for production systems.

What Makes It Unique

Noves does not try to make Canton act like a public chain. Its uniqueness is accepting the privacy model and building analytics around it. The result is data infrastructure that supports reporting without turning private activity into public data.

That distinction is important for validators, app teams, and institutions that need dashboards and exports but cannot compromise confidentiality.

What's Included

Data Workflow

Noves focuses on ingestion, classification, search, filters, exports, and APIs. It turns raw participant-visible events into something teams can actually use.

Operational Fit

The strongest users are validators, application operators, finance teams, support teams, and builders that need to understand Canton activity from inside their own infrastructure.

Privacy Boundary

Noves keeps the core Canton promise intact: better visibility for authorized participants, not broader exposure for everyone else.

Behind the Scenes

The design reflects the needs of real operations teams. They need CSV exports, categories, searchable transactions, support-friendly views, and a way to reconcile activity across applications that may not share a common data shape.

Impact

Noves can make Canton easier to operate. Better data infrastructure helps teams debug, report, reconcile, monitor, and build products with more confidence, which is critical for a privacy-first network moving into production use.

Looking Ahead

The strongest roadmap is broader classification coverage, richer templates for reporting, more application integrations, stronger public endpoints for safe data, and deeper tooling for validators and app operators.
