onRails
Asset infrastructure connecting Ethereum and Solana with Canton.
onRails builds and operates asset infrastructure for Canton. Its products include cETH, a representation of ETH, and cSOL, a representation of SOL, with asset-specific minting, unwrapping and transparency information.
Background
onRails develops the infrastructure for bringing supported external assets into Canton applications. Its product websites distinguish the underlying asset, the Canton representation and the process for moving between them.
Key Benefits
- Access product information for cETH and cSOL.
- Review each asset’s minting and unwrapping process.
- Inspect published transparency information.
- Use asset-specific integration and access routes.
Why Canton
The Canton representations can be used in supported Canton wallets, trading venues and financial applications. The underlying ETH or SOL remains on its original network within the product’s custody and protocol arrangements.
What Makes It Unique
onRails provides separate asset products with their own underlying networks and operating rules. Its websites publish product specifications and transparency resources rather than treating every cross-network transfer as the same service.
What's Included
cETH
The cETH website describes a 1:1 representation of ETH on Canton, backed by ETH locked in protocol-controlled smart contracts. It provides information on obtaining cETH, unwrapping and supported uses.
cSOL
The cSOL website describes a 1:1 representation of SOL on Canton, with underlying SOL held in protocol-controlled on-chain programs. Its operating process and supported integrations should be reviewed separately from cETH.
Transparency and integration
Each product provides transparency and whitepaper resources. Documentation or integration access may require contacting the team. Availability, permitted transfers and supported applications depend on the asset and route.
Using the assets
A wallet or venue must support the particular token. Holding a Canton representation and holding the underlying asset on Ethereum or Solana involve different network, protocol and redemption arrangements.
Official Resources
Behind the Scenes
The published designs coordinate the underlying asset and its Canton representation through minting and unwrapping workflows. Review the product documentation for operators, controls, backing and the current process.
Impact
onRails makes ETH- and SOL-linked assets available to supported Canton applications, extending the assets that those wallets and venues can use.
