Canton’s June synchronizer upgrade eliminated the need for coordinated migrations and network interruptions. Two synchronizers run in parallel, replicating state between them while presenting a single logical synchronizer to validators and applications. Transactions continue uninterrupted. The topology ledger holds its state for a few hours during the upgrade window, with future iterations expected to reduce that to minutes or seconds. @ShaulKfir discusses with @LongViewCrypto.
