Following the recent @Oneswapcc V2 upgrade announcement, I wanted to take a closer look at one of the technologies behind it:
Atomic DvP.
But what exactly is Atomic DvP, and why does it matter?
Atomic Delivery versus Payment (DvP) ensures the asset and payment settle in the same transaction.
Think of buying a house. You wouldn't pay first and hope to receive the keys later. Likewise, the seller wouldn't hand over the keys before receiving payment.
Atomic DvP works the same way as in the example above. Both sides of the trade happen together, or neither happens.
