Digital Asset has added Shinhan Financial Group and SC Ventures by Standard Chartered to its previously announced oversubscribed funding round.

Digital Asset is the creator of Canton, a public layer-one blockchain built for regulated finance with institutional-grade privacy. The company describes Canton as infrastructure for bringing assets, applications, and regulated workflows on-chain while preserving privacy, compliance, control, and interoperability.

The additions expand Digital Asset’s investor base with two global financial institutions. Shinhan Financial Group is South Korea’s largest banking group and is expected to support discussions around institutional adoption in the region. Its participation follows Digital Asset’s recently announced partnership with Hanwha.

SC Ventures is Standard Chartered’s innovation and ventures arm. It builds and invests in ventures in and beyond banking, with a focus that includes digital financial markets and digital assets.

The expanded investor group follows Digital Asset’s recent $355 million funding round led by a16z crypto, with participation from institutions across traditional finance and decentralized finance.

Digital Asset plans to use the capital to expand offerings across the Canton ecosystem, deepen engagement with developers and financial institutions, and support continued network growth.
