Ekiden has been approved as a Featured App on the Canton Network, marking a new step for one of the ecosystem’s derivatives-focused applications.
Ekiden is building infrastructure for institutional derivatives markets. Its platform combines RFQ execution with a central limit order book, giving market participants a structure designed for both negotiated liquidity and order book-driven trading. Ekiden is built on Canton and focuses on bringing derivatives workflows on-chain with settlement and position activity recorded through the network.
As part of its progress on Canton, Ekiden has built its exchange on the network, launched a public testnet, started operating a Canton mainnet validator, and locked 5,000,000 CC on-chain.
Featured App status is awarded through Canton’s Tokenomics Committee process and recognizes applications that bring utility to the network. Approved apps are required to lock Canton Coin to maintain the designation and can participate in rewards tied to real network activity.
For Canton, Ekiden adds more depth to the network’s institutional markets stack. For Ekiden, the approval strengthens its role in Canton’s growing app ecosystem as it continues building derivatives infrastructure for professional market participants.
