Hanwha Investment & Securities is planning its first tokenized product issuance on Canton as it builds a platform for investments represented on a blockchain.

The plans were outlined by digital-asset platform head Lee Byung-chul in an August 31, 2026 interview with DigitalToday. The initial focus is on professional investors, with funds and bonds among the products covered by Hanwha’s wider strategy.

Hanwha is sourcing investment products through Securitize and working with Kresus on digital wallets and platform infrastructure. Discussions with Xangle cover data and research. Initially, Hanwha plans to help issue the products and bring them to investors.

Hanwha confirmed its investment of approximately KRW 30 billion in Digital Asset on July 16. It identified Canton’s infrastructure as a key part of developing its digital-asset platform, building on an April cooperation agreement.

Kresus had also confirmed its work with Hanwha in May on a platform for tokenized private-market assets. It is being developed to support the issuance, management and distribution of those investments.

Hanwha plans to broaden its offering over time to include assets such as property and private companies, with expansion guided by licensing requirements and market conditions.
