London Stock Exchange Group could join Canton’s Super Validator program under a proposal published on September 8. The draft sets out a milestone-based arrangement, with rewards linked to commitments agreed with Canton’s governance committees.
Super Validators help operate and govern the Global Synchronizer, the shared infrastructure that connects applications across Canton. They also vote on network proposals and protocol changes.
For LSEG, the proposed arrangement carries a maximum reward weight of 10. The weight determines its potential share of Super Validator rewards, with access to those rewards dependent on verified progress.
The commercial commitments, deadlines and individual milestones remain confidential. They have been agreed privately with the Foundation’s Tokenomics and Super Validator Accountability Committees, with public disclosure to follow when the Foundation and LSEG consider it appropriate.
LSEG would initially participate through a representative Super Validator operated by the Foundation or another approved provider, covering the costs of that arrangement.
Before receiving milestone rewards, LSEG would need to provide evidence of completed work and a calculation of the Canton Coin earned. Releases would require Tokenomics review and authorization from two-thirds of Super Validator operators. Unearned reward weight would be removed if the associated deadlines were missed.
The draft remains open for discussion.
