Temple has opened a Bitcoin and gold trading pair on Canton, connecting BitSafe’s CBTC with Ember Protocol’s eXAU.

Introduced on September 8, the market is listed as CBTC/eXAU on Temple’s trading platform. Bitcoin is priced in gold tokens, giving traders a direct market between the two assets.

Both tokens were already available on Temple against USDCx. The new pair adds another way to trade them, alongside those existing dollar-based markets.

Ember’s eXAU represents one troy ounce of allocated gold held in professional vault custody. Temple introduced the token alongside Ember’s silver token, eXAG, when it opened its gold and silver spot markets in July.

CBTC brings Bitcoin into Canton applications. It supports transfers between authorized Canton parties, with Bitcoin deposits and redemptions connecting the token to the Bitcoin network.
