CANTON 1.0.12: Cryptographic Non-Repudiation

Public blockchains rely on probabilistic finality, meaning a transaction is only "final" after enough blocks are mined on top of it.

@CantonNetwork delivers deterministic non-repudiation. Every submission requires explicit, cryptographic authorization signatures from all required stakeholders before it is sequenced.

Once committed, no party can deny signing it. Instant, legally enforceable finality for institutional finance.

My take: I think this is what gives smart contract transactions stronger legal credibility. Since every required party must cryptographically authorize the transaction, it creates strong evidence of consent if a dispute arises. That makes it much harder for anyone to deny approving a transaction or claim it wasn't authorized, increasing accountability and trust for institutional finance.
