CANTON 1.0.22: Minting Delegations

Imagine earning rewards, but every time you want to collect them, you have to show up and handle the process yourself.

Of course, you could let someone else do it for you.

But should automating one simple task mean giving someone more control over your assets than they actually need?

This is where @CantonNetwork's Minting Delegations come in.

A beneficiary can give a delegate specific permission to mint eligible reward coupons on their behalf and automatically merge Amulets within configured limits.

The interesting part is that the permission isn't unlimited.

The delegation defines who can act, who receives the rewards, what they can do, and when that authority expires. The beneficiary can also withdraw the delegation.

So you're not handing over everything just because you want one task automated.

My take: We already do this in everyday life. You can give someone permission to do something for you without giving them ownership of everything you have. I think digital assets should work the same way. Give permission for the job that needs to be done, and nothing more.
