Canton Network updates — (as of Oct 17, 2026)
1. Canborsa AI upgrade
@Canborsa_DEX (a multichain perpetuals DEX that accepts CC as collateral) upgraded its in-app AI assistant. It now acts as a trading copilot that can:
- Pull live market prices, funding rates, and order conditions
- Surface news, fundamentals, and insights
- Check balances, open positions, and PnL
- Discuss trade ideas and help build strategies
- Answer questions about Canton, CC, and the platform itself
It remembers conversation history, supports 13 languages, and works by text or voice directly inside the trading interface (no tab-switching). The next planned step is AI-powered trading actions (e.g., opening positions, setting TP/SL, or placing limit orders by voice/text). This builds on earlier Canborsa activity, including crossing $50M cumulative perpetual volume with CC collateral and a DevNet lending prototype.

2. Governance: Digital Asset Super Validator voting app funding request
@digitalasset (the company behind @CantonNetwork ) requested ~1 million CC from the Canton Development Fund for a new governance app. It would let Super Validator (SV) operators delegate their vote to another party, so the person/organization making governance decisions doesn’t also have to operate the node. Each SV node would still have only one vote. The request is staged (community acceptance → production readiness → rollout) and remains under review / has entered a vote process. This sits alongside broader governance work such as the Universal Burn CIP (which would make all MainNet production synchronizers burn CC) and a new Super Validator Accountability Committee mentioned in the Q3 report.

3. Temple volume milestone
@temple_ny (an institutional central-limit-order-book venue built natively on Canton for privacy-preserving, compliant trading of tokenized assets) reached $641 million in 30-day trading volume. That represented a sharp jump (reports cite ~141% growth from the prior month) and roughly 57% of all DEX volume on the network. Temple has been one of the stronger drivers of real institutional activity and CC burns. Earlier milestones included crossing $100M cumulative volume; the platform is designed for 24/7 institutional markets rather than retail flow.

Supporting context from the last few days
- Q3 ecosystem report (released mid-October)
Featured apps rose from 107 to 129 (+21%), six new Super Validator program approvals (a16z crypto, LSEG, Marex, Paxos, Shinhan Asset Management, TreasurySpring), burn-to-mint ratio improved to ~0.69, and the network recorded the highest Q3 fees among compared chains (~$155M). Transaction velocity was lower than Q2, consistent with a shift toward higher-value institutional use.
-Other nearby items: USDXLR expanded stablecoin lending/trading; Canborsa’s $50M volume milestone; Zenith joining tokenization standards work (ERC-3643); ongoing DTCC tokenization timeline (targeted for late October); and smaller tooling/wallet updates.
Overall, the day’s Canton news is more about incremental product polish (AI on a trading venue), governance tooling, and measured volume growth on an institutional platform rather than a single major announcement. Network activity remains modest (low TPS, ~925k parties, multi-billion CC burned historically).
