Submitting the form is not the finish line.
That is where the more important part begins.
Step 4: Create the Contribution Update
This is the part you should take most seriously.
You have 96 hours to add your Contribution Update, and this is where many applicants lose their opportunity.
Weak updates usually look like:
- “Excited to be early on Rocky!”
- “LFG Season 0”
- Generic hype without any real substance
A stronger Contribution Update can follow a simple structure.
1. Show Understanding
Explain in 1–2 sentences what you understand about Rocky, such as its combination of privacy-enabled perpetual trading, Canton settlement, and trading-as-mining.
2. Explain Why It Matters to You
Give one clear and genuine reason you are interested.
3. Explain What You Can Contribute
Mention something realistic, whether that is content, feedback, consistent activity, community support, or another genuine contribution.
The goal is not to write the longest post.
The goal is to make your signal easy to understand.
Practical note:
Read your draft as if you were reviewing someone else's application.
If you removed the word “Rocky,” would the post still demonstrate that the person understands what Rocky is building?
If not, rewrite it.
Generic excitement provides very little signal.
Step 5: After Applying, Stay Consistent
Your behavior after applying still matters.
Natural activity looks like:
- Occasional relevant replies or posts
- Continuing your normal activity within the Canton ecosystem

If your profile and content currently provide little signal, spend some time improving them before applying.
