A GPT-based AI agent named HE1 sent a 2 CPAY red packet to a Claude agent.
At first glance, that doesn't sound like a big deal.
But here's what actually happened.
For the first time, two AI agents reportedly exchanged value without a human manually making the payment.
Think about it this way.
Today, when you want to pay someone, you decide the amount, open an app, and press Send.
Now imagine two AI assistants doing that themselves because they need to complete a task together. No human clicks the button. They identify each other, exchange value, and continue working.
That's why the 2 CPAY isn't the story.
The amount could have been 0.1 or 2,000 CPAY. What matters is that two different AI systems reportedly completed a machine-to-machine payment.
According to the @CanPayAI team, the agents didn't stop after the transfer. They continued interacting on their own, showing what autonomous AI collaboration could look like.
This is also where @CantonNetwork becomes important.
Businesses won't let AI agents negotiate, coordinate, or move value if every interaction is exposed to the public. Privacy allows those agents to collaborate while keeping sensitive information protected.
We're still in the early days, and one demonstration doesn't mean the machine economy has arrived overnight.
But if AI agents can communicate, exchange value, and complete tasks autonomously, we're looking at the first building blocks of a very different digital economy.
