mperps has introduced a perpetual-trading platform on Canton, with Aster handling trades and account balances recorded on Canton.
Perpetual contracts let traders take a position on whether an asset's price will rise or fall, without a fixed expiry date. The app lists contracts linked to Bitcoin, Ether, Canton Coin, gold and U.S. stocks. The stock-linked contracts give traders exposure to price movements without ownership of the shares.
The interface brings together prices, charts, open positions and trading history. Traders can choose market orders or limit orders, depending on whether they want to submit an order at market prices or specify a price they are willing to accept.
Orders are matched on Aster before a corresponding position is created on Canton. When a trade is closed, its gain or loss is settled in USDCx, a dollar-linked token on Canton.
New accounts require an invitation code. Deposits are made in USDCx and credited once the transfer is confirmed and the account has passed identity verification.
The platform was developed by the team behind ZeroMile and WeFi. Hyperliquid and Lighter are planned additions, with Aster currently the only trading venue available.
