Sixteen organizations have submitted applications to operate Canton validators, with community review open until September 2, 2026. Published on August 26, the applications span eight jurisdictions.

A validator connects users and applications to Canton, checks transactions and keeps a record of activity. Each node stores only the data it needs.

Japan's BOOSTRY plans to build Canton wallets and help financial institutions in Japan use the network. The company already works on ibet for Fin, a digital-securities network jointly operated by financial institutions. BOOSTRY develops software and coordinates work among the companies involved.

Abu Dhabi-based 3ERA plans applications for creating and trading tokenized assets. Radius Research intends to build institutional applications and work with financial institutions in Asia. Other proposals cover payments, wallet infrastructure and real-estate tokenization.

Community members can raise concerns or request a discussion during the review. If no concerns are raised by the deadline, the applications will be treated as approved.

Operating a validator on MainNet, Canton's live network, also requires network access and setup with a sponsoring operator. Developers are encouraged to check their applications on development and test networks before deploying them on MainNet.
