Broadridge Financial Solutions, part of the Canton Network ecosystem, has processed $8 trillion in repo transactions through its blockchain-based Distributed Ledger Repo platform, known as DLR, during July, with average daily volume reaching $365 billion, up 28% year over year.
Within the platform, collateral used in repo transactions can be tokenized and moved between counterparties while financing activity is processed through the ledger, without requiring firms to replace their existing trading and post-trade systems.
July marked the latest month in which DLR processed hundreds of billions of dollars in repo transactions daily, following comparable volumes recorded earlier in 2026. The platform handled $7.3 trillion in January, nearly $8 trillion in March, roughly $8 trillion again in April, $7.2 trillion in May, and $7.5 trillion in June, before rising to $8 trillion in July. Broadridge said DLR market data also became available to Bloomberg Terminal subscribers in July.
Horacio Barakat, global head of digital innovation at Broadridge, said tokenization is becoming part of how institutions manage liquidity and collateral, noting that DLR continues to demonstrate that distributed ledger infrastructure can support the scale, reliability, and interoperability required for core financing activity.
Broadridge has also been developing intraday uses for the platform. In March, the company cited research with Finadium finding that using intraday DLR for 15% of activity could reduce intraday liquidity buffer requirements by between 8% and 17%.
The growth of DLR adds to a broader pattern of institutional repo activity building on Canton Network. Earlier in 2026, DTCC, Euroclear, Tradeweb, Citadel Securities, and Societe Generale completed a cross-border intraday repo transaction involving tokenized UK government bonds on Canton, and Broadridge's continued scale-up reinforces the network's growing footprint across institutional repo and collateral markets.
