Ibex adds cETH perpetual trading to its Canton beta

cETH-PERP is now listed on Ibex’s beta MainNet, adding a market linked to onRails’ ETH-backed token on Canton.

Ibex has added cETH-PERP to its beta MainNet on Canton. The listing introduces a perpetual-futures market tied to cETH, the Canton-native representation of ETH operated by onRails.

onRails confirmed the listing on September 29, following Ibex’s announcement the previous day that the market was coming.

cETH is backed one-for-one by ETH locked in protocol-controlled smart contracts on Ethereum. It brings that asset into Canton for use across trading, lending and other applications. The Ibex market adds a derivatives use for it.

A perpetual contract lets traders take a position on an asset’s price without a fixed expiry date. That is a different position from buying and holding cETH itself.

Ibex’s trading platform is designed to keep position sizes, leverage and liquidation levels hidden from other participants. cETH-PERP joins that platform as part of its beta MainNet rollout.
