Maha Wallet is partnering with Cashen to arrange a continuous lock of 5 million Canton Coin, meeting the amount required under Canton’s Featured App rules.
The requirement comes from CIP-0116. Non-issuer Featured App parties must maintain 5 million CC in an identifiable, segregated account. The coins must remain actively locked, and applications must also stay in good standing with the Canton Foundation.
For new applicants, locking and approval are separate steps. Applicants identify the account and coins to be locked before review, then must have enough CC locked before the network vote to feature that account. Maha’s partnership addresses the locking side of that process.
Cashen’s marketplace connects applications that need locked CC with institutional holders willing to supply it. A supplier retains custody of the coins while the lock supports the application’s requirement. The two parties agree the amount, interest rate, minimum lock period and notice needed to recall the coins.
This model gives an application a way to arrange the required lock without supplying all the CC from its own holdings. Cashen operates the marketplace, while the agreements are between its participants.
Maha is a non-custodial browser wallet for Canton. It supports holding, sending and receiving assets, signing transactions and connecting to applications through Chrome, Brave and Edge. Its website also provides an access-code registration process for users joining the wallet.
