Neoprime goes live on Cantex with private-company exposure

NEOPRIME is trading against CC on Cantex, with Erebor as its first investment. The token targets private industrial companies through a structure that differs from owning their shares directly.

NEOPRIME is now available to trade on Cantex against Canton Coin (CC). Issued by Neoprime using Hecto’s infrastructure, the token brings private-company investment exposure to a live market on Canton.

Cantex announced live trading on October 20, following Neoprime’s introduction earlier this month.

What is Neoprime investing in?

Neoprime’s investment theme centres on private businesses in defence, space, robotics and advanced manufacturing. It is a focused industrial strategy, rather than a broad basket of every prominent company waiting to list on a stock exchange.

Erebor is its first completed investment. The bank was designed to serve technology, payments and defence customers, among other sectors. It fits the financing side of Neoprime’s industrial theme.

Shield AI and Anduril were still being secured in the October 14 announcement. At that point, neither position was confirmed complete. Each completed acquisition would change the mix of businesses behind the token.

What holders actually own

The issuer describes NEOPRIME as a British Virgin Islands debenture, a debt instrument giving holders a contractual claim against Neoprime’s investment vehicle. The underlying share exposure is held through investment vehicles, not directly by token holders.

NEOPRIME represents a creditor claim, not direct company shares.
Structure described in the issuer’s October 14 release. Simplified, not a complete legal ownership chart.

How its value is designed to work

The token’s trading price and the investment value behind each token are separate numbers. Hecto has explained why private-market tokens can trade at a premium: when demand for a fixed supply rises, buyers can end up paying more than the underlying exposure is worth.

NEOPRIME’s design lets eligible parties issue more tokens when the market price exceeds the underlying value per token. The capital buys shares; the extra token supply is intended to narrow the premium.

The stated plan also calls for selling a holding when that company announces an IPO process, using the proceeds to support NEOPRIME buybacks. A buyback is not a guarantee of redemption at the underlying value per token.

The planned exits would change the portfolio over time. The strategy is to invest before companies list, rather than keep the same holdings indefinitely after they enter public markets.

Where it fits on Canton

Hecto set out Predictions, private-market exposure (PMX) and Vaults as separate products in August. NEOPRIME is the first PMX token built on Hecto infrastructure to reach live trading. It is separate from HECTO, the ecosystem’s utility token, which supports participation and rewards rather than company ownership.

For Canton, the useful development is a connection between private-company investment exposure and an existing token market. It gives holders a way to trade the exposure without arranging a transfer of the underlying shares themselves. That is a different service from a utility token or a prediction product.

The longer-term test is whether the portfolio, its disclosures and trading liquidity develop together. A live token makes the exposure easier to exchange; clear information about what sits behind it makes that market more useful.
