SK Securities has signed a memorandum of understanding with Edena Korea to expand its digital asset finance business, linking one of South Korea’s major financial institutions with infrastructure tied to Cantor8 and Canton Network.
The collaboration will focus on real-world asset tokenization, security token offerings, and regulation-friendly digital finance infrastructure. Cantor8 described the arrangement as SK Securities choosing Cantor8 as its blockchain partner and said the firm will leverage Cantor8 and Canton Network infrastructure as part of the expansion of its key digital asset business.
The agreement comes as South Korea’s token securities market moves toward institutional adoption. Maeil Business Newspaper reported that the MOU is aimed at responding to the institutionalization of token securities after related bills, including measures tied to the Capital Markets Act and Electronic Securities Act, passed the National Assembly plenary session in January 2026.
Edena Korea is described as a global financial infrastructure company working across settlement, clearing, token securities, stablecoin platforms, and global core banking rails. Its institutional digital finance strategy is supported by alliances with Cantor8, Canton Network, and Silverlake Axis.
For Canton and Cantor8, the announcement points to growing demand from regulated Asian financial institutions for blockchain infrastructure that can support tokenized assets while staying aligned with compliance-led market design. SK Securities and Edena Korea plan to cooperate on RWA token infrastructure and explore blockchain-based financial services that remain regulation-friendly.
SK Securities CEO Jung Joon-ho said the firm plans to pursue overseas expansion in digital financial assets through a business model that tokenizes and distributes real assets with Edena Korea, while developing new financial services and products for customers. He also emphasized investor protection and regulation-friendly design as priorities for the RWA tokenization business.
