World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin directly on Canton Network. The launch follows a December 2025 announcement outlining plans to bring USD1 to the network.

Institutions can now configure USD1 as the dollar payment in transactions involving tokenized assets on Canton. The asset and payment can settle together, while transaction details remain private to the relevant parties.

The announced uses include collateral for derivatives and institutional lending, along with cross-border payments that can settle around the clock. USD1 can also support the issuance, funding and redemption of tokenized assets, as well as financing across institutions and markets.

The launch announcement reports that more than $9 trillion in tokenized assets are issued or processed on Canton each month. It also states that over $350 billion in onchain U.S. Treasurys move across the network each day.

“Tokenization has moved faster than the money behind it,” said Zak Folkman, co-founder and chief operating officer of World Liberty Financial. Folkman said native USD1 allows the dollar payment to settle alongside the tokenized asset.

USD1 launched in March 2025 and has more than $4 billion in circulation, according to the release. USD1 is redeemable one-for-one for U.S. dollars and fully backed by reserves that include short-term U.S. Treasurys, U.S. government money market funds, U.S. dollar deposits and other cash equivalents.

BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association issues USD1, manages its reserves and handles minting and redemptions. BitGo also provides the issuance and custody infrastructure supporting USD1 on Canton and the other networks where it is available.
