Canton 3.5.17 is available, bringing fixes for crashes and connection problems that can affect network operators. The September 10 maintenance release focuses on the software’s day-to-day operation.
Two fixes address situations where the system could run out of memory. One involved messages building up when other nodes could not receive them quickly enough. Another involved tracking records being created but not properly closed.
The update also addresses problems during node onboarding and catch-up, including a fault that could leave a rejoining node without incoming connections.
Other changes reduce the computing resources needed to handle incoming transactions and give operators another way to monitor performance. The release also sets consistent defaults for managing the flow of data between connections and rejects conflicting settings.
The release supports Canton protocol versions 34 and 35.
