Splice 0.8.3 is ready for deployment on Canton MainNet, the network used for live activity. The October 5 operator notice confirms that two-thirds of Super Validator nodes had upgraded, including the Global Synchronizer Foundation’s node.
A separate notice issued earlier that day clears Splice 0.8.4 for TestNet, where teams test their applications and integrations. The same two-thirds threshold had been reached there.
Splice is the software behind the Global Synchronizer, the shared infrastructure that lets Canton applications coordinate transactions while keeping their data private. The notices tell operators which release is ready for their environment; they do not mean every node has finished upgrading.
The release notes put the MainNet release on Canton 3.5.18 and the TestNet release on Canton 3.5.19. Version 0.8.3 also fixes an issue that could keep applications from reaching some token-transfer and allocation functions.
The rollout follows September 28 notices covering Splice 0.8.1 on MainNet, 0.8.3 on TestNet and 0.8.4 on DevNet. The new notices move the production and test environments forward from those earlier stages.
Installing these releases is separate from the planned MainNet migration to CantonBFT. The software-readiness notices do not confirm that the migration has happened or that new reward settings have been activated.
Operators can check the MainNet notice and TestNet notice before upgrading.
