Canton’s latest updates include new evidence for a reliability project, revised grant conditions and a fresh snapshot of trading markets. The common thread is making activity easier to see and check: network performance, project adoption and the status of token transfers.

Digital Asset submits reliability-dashboard evidence

Digital Asset submitted a dashboard as evidence for its second reliability milestone on October 28 at 18:17 UTC. The work concerns sequencers, the network services that route transaction messages, and whether validators can reliably read from and submit to them.

The public dashboard shows performance over the preceding 24 hours as measured from validators operated by Digital Asset. Its scope is those observations, rather than an independent measurement from every Canton participant. The new step is the evidence submission; it does not establish a first launch, committee acceptance or payment.

OS Ledger ties more proposed funding to adoption

Outer Sunset revised its OS Ledger funding proposal on October 28 at 19:28 UTC following committee feedback. OS Ledger is intended to turn Canton ledger activity into accounting entries and records that can be checked against the original transactions.

The revision makes 4.25 million CC, or half of the 8.5 million CC delivery budget, conditional on adoption. A separate 1.8 million CC maintenance budget brings the total request to 10.3 million CC. The 50% figure applies to delivery funding, not the entire request.

OS Ledger's proposed 10.3 million CC budget: 8.5 million for delivery, including 4.25 million conditional on adoption, plus 1.8 million for maintenance. Funding remains requested, not awarded.

The applicant also removed the managed-service element from this grant, tied milestone dates to approval and separated maintenance payments for upkeep and active use. This updates the proposal previously included in the Development Fund’s October voting round. It remains a proposal, not an award.

Grofty reports 36 assets and 86 markets

Grofty’s October 28 snapshot says Lens tracks 36 assets and 86 markets across Rocky, Temple, Cantex, Tradecraft and OneSwap. That gives readers a single place to compare prices and trading venues across those five exchanges.

Lens was introduced in September, and its portfolio and developer tools were covered earlier in October. These are Grofty’s current coverage figures, rather than a new product launch or a count of every Canton market.

ChainSafe explains existing transfer controls

ChainSafe highlighted the transfer controls in its ERC-20/CIP-56 middleware, software connecting Ethereum token tooling with Canton’s token standard. The controls include checking the recipient before a transfer, tracking its status and history, cancelling an offer before acceptance and reclaiming an expired offer.

Those controls address a practical question: has a transfer completed, or does the sender still need to act? They are existing capabilities described in a new post. ChainSafe’s July release notes already list the transfer-history, cancellation, recovery and recipient-checking work.

Woof clarifies checks before each action permit

Woof’s revised compliance-tooling proposal says it must check that an Ethereum-style address is still linked to the correct Canton party before issuing each action permit. If it cannot establish that the link is current, it must refuse the permit; validating a login token alone is insufficient.

The proposed service would let applications on Zenith act on compliance decisions recorded on Canton. The clarification addresses a link that an issuer can change or remove after registration. It is a design requirement in a funding proposal, not confirmation of an approved grant or a released service.
