Digital Asset has released Canton 2.10.6, a maintenance update focused on reconnecting after a hard domain migration.
The release is narrowly focused. It addresses performance limitations during hard domain migrations for Canton participants that use a PostgreSQL database and hold a large Active Contract Set — the set of contracts that remain active for a participant. When such a participant reconnects, it must process changes to that set. Digital Asset says version 2.10.6 introduces a faster query path for that reconnect step, replaying ACS changes more efficiently.
A focused operational improvement
In plain terms, the update is designed to make a specific reconnect step more efficient for a defined type of deployment. The release notes scope the performance change to PostgreSQL-based participants with a large Active Contract Set during hard domain migrations.
