R1M has submitted R1M Sentinel for Canton Featured App status as it prepares to add Canton Coin payments to its validator-monitoring service.
Sentinel watches registered nodes and sends Telegram alerts when a problem appears. Operators can also receive notices about network updates and active governance proposals, with separate settings for each network they monitor.
The product is already live across six chains and 11 networks. R1M’s Featured App application lists approximately 77 monitored nodes and 67 users.
R1M expects its existing node operators and validators to become the first customers for the Canton version.
The payment system is now being tested on Canton DevNet. Free monitoring would remain available, while premium users would deposit Canton Coin and use it to pay for the service.
Only customer payments would count towards Featured App rewards. Routine node checks, Telegram alerts, account logins and test transfers would not qualify.
R1M is aiming to activate Canton MainNet billing by early September 2026. R1M Sentinel is already available, but its Canton Coin payment system has not yet launched on MainNet.
R1M has applied as a non-issuer application. Under CIP-0116, it must lock five million CC for the PartyID receiving Featured App status.
The team has identified one PartyID and says it will need support sourcing the CC required for the lock. That lock must be completed before the final onchain vote can approve the PartyID.
If approved, R1M Sentinel would give validator operators a direct way to pay for premium monitoring in Canton Coin.
