HSBC CST has received Featured App status on Canton Network’s TestNet after a unanimous governance vote took effect on August 21.
The executed proposal received 13 votes in favour and none against. The governance process completed shortly after 15:00 UTC, creating an active Featured App right for HSBC CST.
Featured App status places HSBC CST within Canton’s governed application framework on TestNet. The decision gives the project a recognised position in the network’s testing environment, where applications can be developed and assessed with support from Canton’s Super Validators.
The original application was opened earlier in August and described HSBC CST as ready to establish Featured App status on TestNet. The proposal then progressed through the network’s voting process before receiving support from every TestNet Super Validator.
HSBC has been expanding its presence on Canton throughout 2026. In March, its TestNet validator application outlined plans to explore regulated financial-market use cases and give internal developers and partners access to Canton infrastructure.
That work became more visible in April, when HSBC completed a controlled pilot of its Tokenised Deposit Service. The pilot simulated the issuance, transfer and atomic settlement of tokenised deposits against other digital assets on Canton.
HSBC CST’s Featured App status is a separate TestNet development from the earlier deposit pilot. Together, the two initiatives add to HSBC’s growing record of development activity on Canton.
With the right now active, HSBC CST has moved from a successful governance vote to formal Featured App status on Canton TestNet.
