Canton Network’s Development Fund has allocated more than 162 million Canton Coin across 32 approved proposals, according to an official Canton Network update.

The approved work spans protocol development, infrastructure, security and broader ecosystem initiatives. A separate Canton Foundation update highlighted the fund’s support for research, tooling, security work and shared infrastructure, with funding tied to delivery.

The figures were published alongside Palladium Labs’ State of the Canton Network — H1 2026 report. Together, the approved proposals represent a sizeable portfolio of work focused on strengthening the systems and tools used across Canton.

The public Development Fund repository provides a closer look at the work moving through the program. Proposals cover core Canton and Daml development, open-source wallets, software development kits, security analysis, developer tools, reference applications and shared infrastructure.

Each proposal sets out the work to be delivered, its budget and the milestones used to measure progress.

An allocation records the amount approved for a proposal. The CC is then released in stages as the team completes its work. Under the Canton Foundation’s program rules, each milestone is assessed against agreed acceptance criteria before its associated payment is approved.

The fund receives 5% of future Canton Coin emissions through CIP-0082. This gives Canton an ongoing source of funding for work intended to benefit the wider network without increasing the planned issuance schedule.

CIP-0100 provides the governance framework. The Foundation’s Tech & Ops Committee reviews proposals, while a dedicated Voting Group gives final approval. Delivery and continued funding are then assessed milestone by milestone.

With 32 proposals approved, the Development Fund is supporting a growing body of shared work across Canton. As milestones are completed, the approved allocations can turn into new code, security improvements, developer tools and infrastructure available to the wider ecosystem.
