Canton has enabled the supporting Daml models for CIP-0104 on MainNet, alongside a Featured App weight-voting interface for Super Validators.
The Canton Foundation’s update marks an important step in the network’s work on traffic-based app rewards. Super Validators can now use the governance interface to review and vote on Featured App weights.
The models provide the network-side structure needed for the new reward framework, while the voting interface gives Super Validators a way to participate in setting app weights through governance.
The current MainNet configuration continues to use Featured App markers for active minting. Traffic-based rewards remain in the dry-run configuration as the network moves through the next stage of testing and governance preparation. The update does not include a new activation date for traffic-based reward minting.
The configuration can be reviewed in the official MainNet runtime update and the current Amulet Rules file.
CIP-0104 connects app activity, Featured App governance and Canton Coin rewards. With the models and voting tools now available on MainNet, the network has the core governance components needed to refine how app activity can be measured and weighted.
