Rocky has introduced Rocky Verification, a tool for independently checking its delivery-versus-payment trade settlements on Canton.
Delivery versus payment, usually shortened to DvP, links the transfer of an asset to the corresponding payment. In a completed exchange, the buyer receives the asset as the seller receives payment. Rocky's new tool gives users a way to check that settlement on the network.
The verification service is available through Rocky's application, while the exchange's wider MainNet launch remains upcoming. It is the first application built on the planned Canton Assurance Layer, an open infrastructure initiative focused on cryptographic checks for institutional markets. The wider initiative remains in development.
Rocky's trading architecture separates order matching from settlement. One part of the system processes buy and sell orders; Canton handles the linked asset movements and the transaction records. Those linked actions are designed to complete together or not complete.
Canton also limits transaction visibility to the parties required for each workflow. Rocky Verification adds a settlement-checking tool alongside that model, with the completed DvP trade as its focus.
